Lana Del Rey’s H&M campaign!!!!!

If you can’t tell by all my exclamation marks, I am super excited that, after what felt like forever waiting, Lana Del Rey’s campaign for H&M has launched!

As the preview I posted back in July demonstrated, she looks absolutely flawless (well, duh, she is flawless)!

I love her big beauty queen hair, pouty lips, and and sultry poses. As for the clothes, I particularly like the peach angora sweater and gray tweed dress.

Check out the commercial and ad campaign below:

What are your thoughts on the campaign? Isn’t she absolutely stunning?

I have been listening to her album 24/7 for the last two months, and have developed a serious girl crush. So, I may be slightly bias.

Always chic,

Emerald Envy

I have just fallen in love with emerald all over again! Lately, I’ve been seeing this colour in stores everywhere (H&M, Zara, Forever21, the usual…) and I just think it’s a perfect colour to transition into Fall with.

Emerald just so happens to be my birth stone (I’m a May baby), so it makes for a good excuse to invest in some jewels. It is a very expensive stone, unfortunately, so I might have to stick with costume jewellery for the time being!

And since green is on my mind, I must confess: I am so sick of mint green!!!! It may be slightly hypocritical of me to announce that while looking at my mint nail polish, but I had to say it. I am planning to retire the colour until next spring. Who’s with me?

I love emerald because it is such a rich and regal colour. Pair it with gold accents and you’ll have your fellow fashionistas green with envy! I also love it when contrasted again cobalt blue.

Here are some images that have inspired me to embrace emerald this fall:

Satin Trousers from Zara – $49.90

Show off your body in this fitted dress from Forever 21 for $10.50! (I do not recommend pairing this little number with hooker heels!)

Yves Saint Lauren Cabas Chyc leather tote – $2150 from Net-A-Porter. I would LOVE a YSL bag before they change names to “Saint Laurent Paris”… sigh.

Kate Bosworth rocking a sequined emerald mini

What other colours are you looking forward to wearing this fall?

Always chic,

L.

Lana Del Rey is the new face of H&M

Earlier today, I was browsing through Instagram (I finally got it – follow crazyclassychic) and came across this breathtaking picture of Lana Del Rey.

Turns out, H&M announced today that the 26-year-old singer and songwriter will be the pouty new face of H&M’s fall/winter collection. Seeing my girl crush do a campaign for my favourite store is pretty fabulous. As if I needed another reason to shop at H&M…

She is shown wearing a soft pink angora sweater, chandelier earrings and leather pants. I think she looks like the perfect combination of edgy and sultry with the big hair, black eyeliner, nude lips, and soft colour palette.

H&M’s creative director, Donald Schneider, says “the mood is very LA Noir”. Not totally sure what that means, but whatever it is, I love it!

The collection will launch in September. I’m super excited, are you?

Always chic,

L.

H&M needs to step up their game

After using Forever 21′s e-commerce site to buy maxi dresses last week - free shipping on purchases over $60 and my package came in 3 days – I realized it is not only disappointing, but quite ridiculous that H&M doesn’t offer the same.

Last October, H&M announced they would launch an e-commerce site at the end of 2011. So…. what happened?

H&M is my go-to store for fast fashion items. As much as I love their clothes, I don’t enjoy shopping there when the store gets chaotic and disorganized – which is quite often.

For example, they launched their Pre-Summer Conscious Collection on April 12th and, as expected, I have yet to find my size in most of the items I was planning to buy. If I could purchase these items online, it would save me the hassle of going on a scavenger hunt at various H&M stores.

In the 21st century, is it too much to ask for the convenient option of shopping online? Especially from a store like H&M, as they are considered to be a fashion leader.

Anyways, this fabulous collection was shot by one of my favourite photographers, Terry Richardson. Here are some of my favourite looks:
